Portland was fine, sunset-wise. Coco says this restaurant is pretty scary. no windows. Her dog is a strong pup. Some good signage in Portland. And I went inside a cave alone and was terrified of a lava event.
I drove up to Arcata and ate lunch next to the old mill or whatever. I saw Crater Lake and you need a fisheye lens to actually frame the entire thing. I walked over the river and up a hill to a shack overlooking the river valley. It was a gross hot spring with an incredible view. This was in southern Oregon. A little west of there, in a small town called Roseberg, the high school seniors paint their year in the side if a hill.
